so far so great as well.... but it has so many features and potential... haven't even unleashed half of its potential.... but good .. everything works... no problems... connections easy to figure etc...

Great receiver, but quality control issue?
I purchased this receiver in May 2008. Very solid, lots of inputs, great sound. Love having one HDMI running to my television mounted over the fireplace. Runs hot but I keep it on top of my cabinet to allow adequate ventilation. Worked well for about 7 months, now the display no longer comes on. I have heard that this is a problem many owners have had--usually happens about a year after purchase. Trying to get repaired under warranty now.

In An Entirely Different League!
I must say that I was a bit hesitant about ordering this receiver, but I don't regret my purchase one bit. I previously had an Onkyo home theater receiver, but it does not compare to this receiver. It gives my speakers a whole new dimension. I love the various listening modes and I am still playing with the Audessey feature and like what it does and how it brings out hidden and subtle passages. Yes, this unit gets hot, but so did my previous unit. This is a fantastic receiver for the money with high quality amps and features!

if you need to power some big speakers this is the reciever for you. Puts out nice sound.

Rock solid Receiver and bang for your buck winner
I have had this receiver for almost 6 months and Onkyo has again made me a solid reciever. I have had no issues at all and Amazon was first rate in the shipping of this to me.It's very heavy though and as sme have experienced, it can get very hot if not well ventilated. I solved this with an aftermarket AV Cooler which sits atop the receiver and exhausts air out the back of my enclosed cabinet. You won't go wrong with this unit and will have nothing but smiles on yours and your guests faces when you hit the power key. Enjoy!
